For more than twenty years, the mission of The New Jersey Association of Community Providers (NJACP) has been to assist member agencies as the provide quality supports and services for people with developmental disabilities.
NJACP Member Agencies serve individuals with developmental disabilities, including but not limited to mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, head injury, and communication impairments. Many individuals also have vision and/or hearing impairments, medical, physcological and physical disabilites, in addition to developmental disabilities. The range of services and supports provided NJACP Member Agencies provide a means for people with developmental disabilities to participate in the life of the community, Providers agencies enable people to form connections, develop relationships and increase independence an opportunity for choice. Through their services and supports, agencies belonging to NJACP improve the overall quality of life of the people they serve.

Code of Ethics
NJACP advocates for a high standard of practice and professional competence in the human services field and among community providers. The uniqueness and individuality of the persons we serve throughout our membership agencies is paramount. NJACP is driven by its mission to protect and promote the rights and quality of life people who have developmental disabliities.
Expertise
Opprotunities for personal and professional development are available throughout the year. Membership and committee meetings offer information exchanges and networking with human service professionals. A variety of seminars and workshops covering topics relevant and timely to our industry provide educational and training opportunities to staff in all positions of member organizations. Each year, the NJACP Annual Confernce attracts experts from related fields of service along with specialized vendors. This event is one of New Jersey’s most informative and comprehensive and conference on service provision for people with developmental disablities. Excellence is service and leadership is recognized through the Outstanding Service Awards providing a forum to celebrate the accomplishments of professionals statewide.
Policy
Working with legislators and state officials, NJACP promotes government policy that progressively addresses the issues pertinent to its membership. Together, NJACP agencies are revolutionizing the Human Services Industry and furthering our cause throughout the entire system-from public policy to individual lives.
Industry Growth
Involvement with NJACP broadens consensus within our field. The collective strength and expertise of our membership is a powerful agent for progress in community life for people with developmental disabilites. NJACP Committees and Speakers Bureau amplify the mission of our member agencies and expand our spectrum of support through heightend awareness and education. NJACP member agencies serve approximately 35,000 people and their families and employ nearly 17,000 people statewide.
